Welcome to your next home away from home ASPEN SUMMIT. This beautiful cabin built in 2018 is nestled on a hilltop surrounded by Aspen and Pine trees just 5 miles from Deadwood.
Aspen Summit sits on 9 SECLUDED acres with one of the most stunning views of the surrounding hills you will find. You won't see multiple cabins from our decks, just incredible views of the beautiful Black Hills. Located in the heart of the northern Black Hills where recreation is abundant. Just a short 10-15 minute drive from your next home away from home you can enjoy Terry Peak, Spearfish Canyon, Boulder Canyon and Lead/Deadwood.

There is taxi service to the property from Deadwood where you'll be sure to enjoy the local nightlife, restaurants and events all year long. In about an hour you can enjoy Mt. Rushmore, Hill City, Keystone, Custer State Park, and the Southern Black Hills.

After enjoying all the local adventures , you'll be happy to come back home to your very own local cabin. You will frequently see wildlife around the cabin and amazing sunrises over the mountain. Enjoy the seasonal stream surrounded by aspen trees along the road to Aspen Summit and view starry skies like you've never seen before all from your very own home away from home.

With 3 bedrooms, you'll have enough room for up to 8 people. The master bedroom has a king log bed, TV and a private bath. There is a queen log bed and TV in the 2nd bedroom and a queen bed plus twin bunk beds in the 3rd bedroom. Everything is on one level, so you will enjoy the convenience for everyone in your group.

Stainless steel appliances accent the rustic kitchen with a cozy fireplace and big screen TV sharing the open living area.

The all wood interior and rustic double covered porches along with the breathtaking views and seclusion will give you the true Black Hills Cabin experience.

We welcome you to your new favorite home away from home, ASPEN SUMMIT!

This is an excellent cabin with a secluded feel and an awesome view. No city noises from outside with a super comfy set-up inside. This cabin was an excellent choice for our first trip to South Dakota and we would certainly recommend Aspen Summit to anyone visiting the area.

This cabin is wonderful! It is beautiful inside and out. It was very clean with enough space for 5 adults. The kitchen was stocked pretty well, we did have to purchase some aluminum foil and plastic bags. The beds are comfortable and plenty of extra blankets if needed. It is very secluded and the road is pretty rough. The only issues that we had were, that there were no mirrors in the bedrooms, only in the bathrooms which made it a little hard for 3 females to get ready in the mornings, and in the main bathroom there was no garbage container, however, we found one in the large storage closet. Overall we loved the cabin and the back deck was perfect for morning coffee and planning the day and the hot tub was perfect for ending a long day of hiking and exploring one of our favorite places on earth! Thank you for providing us with this beautiful cabin for my family and me.

Aspen Summit is a very nice property. The pictures are accurate to the actual appearance of the cabin in person. The location is great if you want to head to Deadwood or the ski hills. It does take a little effort to get there the first time but it isn't hard if you follow the directions in the welcome email. I did not notice any issues with smell or taste from the drinking water. There is a very slight "mineral" smell in the shower water but nothing off putting. The view is pretty great. It is a very cozy spot.

We were so happy with this place and plan on making a trip here at least 2 times a year. Well worth the drive and the experience. It’s a place that I could rent for a month to just hide away if I had the time. Great place for finishing a novel or writing a book.

We loved the location. Very private with just a short drive to all of the action. All instructions for the cabin were displayed and easy to follow. The property managers thought of everything, which made the stay very pleasant. Fireplace, hot tub/jacuzzi, stars in the night sky, privacy, fully stocked kitchen, we could not have asked for a better vacation stay! Warmed our hearts to see such care and attention to detail.

Absolutely beautiful cabin and location. Very secluded hilltop cabin that was well stocked. Very nice kitchen open to dining and living room. Nice deck overlooking valley with beautiful sunrise over the mountain. Water in bathrooms do smell but the place is so nice it’s very easy to overlook.

The cabin was very clean with a modern well furnished kitchen. The views were great with no other cabins in sight. Can’t beat the location just a few minutes from deadwood or lead, so it’s a quick drive for groceries or a table game. Dealing with the management was great they were nice and quick to respond to any questions I had. All around great place to stay.

This place was absolutely a hidden gem! The location on top of the mountain made for perfect sunrises out the picture window with the fire place on and a cup of coffee. The hot tub on the other side of the cabin made for a perfect sunset location with a cocktail and relaxation. I will definitely be renting this location again and again.

Aspen Summit had everything our family of 6 could want/need. It was nice and clean and the hot tub was a hit! Each morning I had coffee with the sunrise and was greeted by deer. What a view! May not be ideal for very young children as the edges are pretty steep but they have it blocked off with logs nicely. We would definitely recommend staying here and hope to be back!

A wonderful location and view! Remote and isolated but town is not far away. House was comfortable well equipped. Make sure you take your own basic food and condiments, nothing in the house but salt and pepper. If you know that and prepare, you will have a wonderful stay!

We had an amazing time at Aspen Summit! Beautiful views, quiet, private, it was just perfect! The cabin had every feature from home you could possibly want. There was an issue with the water heater when we were there. The owner had it under control immediately, getting it replaced and taking care of things much quicker than we anticipated, very friendly people! We are already planning our trip for next year, thank you!

Fabulous view beautiful accommodations!! If you need to get away from it all this is your place. May not be the place for younger kids due to steep drop offs. We were there several days and never saw anyone! We were just minutes from town if we needed anything. It was perfect. This is our second experience with Black Hills Adventure Lodging and have been happy both times. Buddi is awesome to work with!

Our great escape could not have been any better. We made tons of memories and shared a lot of laughs. Aspen Summit was clean the location was pristine and beautiful. We loved waking up to the sunrise coming in through the large window in the home. The views and the scenery were amazing. The home was very clean and smelled brand new when you walked through the doors. It was very well stocked with towels and bedding and extra blankets and it was great to not have to worry about those little things.

First off, the address given in the pictures is not the actual address. When I mapped it, it showed we were staying over by Terry Peak. The location is actually on the other side of Lead heading toward Central City. Was a little disappointed when we didnt find that out until we actually got there. But, the view was awesome, cabin was nice and clean! Enough room for our trucks and trailers and RZRs to park. Very secluded, and quite!

I loved that you could not see another house in almost any direction. That is changing. But the view of the sunrise and mountains is beautiful. The house is very new and nice. The amenities were great for my family of 5.

Our cousins come every year and this year I decided to suprise them with a stay in the Black Hills. The awe of the location was breath taking. The inside of the cabin more than exceeded our expectations. Beautifully decorated and so clean. As our stay came to a close we didn't want to leave.

If you are looking for a place just to relax, this is it. Sit on the front porch I. The morning with my coffee and the deer walk right by you. It was the best stay I have ever had out there.

Family of 4 stayed 4 nights, plus another family of 4 stayed with us 2 of those nights. Cabin was very clean and well kept. The views from the east facing deck are amazing! Wonderful sunrises while having your coffee.

Location is very convenient right off Hwy 14 outside of Lead.

The only issue we had was garbage pickup, but I spoke with BHAL (on a Sunday) and they said they'd been having issues all month at their properties with pickup. They did say it was noted in the cabin handbook what day of the week pickup was, but it was not in there anywhere.

The directions provided before our stay to get to the cabin from Alt 14 were quite poor. I'd suggest providing a map or private YouTube video for guests to follow.

Unfortunately garbage pickup at this cabin is once a week, and we let the garbage people know to try and get up there again for the garbage, but they typically only go up there once during the busy summer months. Only so much we can do with requests to the garbage company. Also, there is a accurate map on our website with the location of the cabin. Our directions have worked with other groups, so if you have any suggestions on the directions we'd be happy to incorporate them. Thanks again.

Arrived at night, it was pitch blank but thanks to the property owner i was able to find my way to the cabin. It was such an amazing place it was very cozy and had very fast wifi and any video streaming software you could want! It also came with a stove, oven, pots and pans it was perfect!

Celebrated a bachelor party for a relative, and all 7 of us agreed that the cabin, location, scenery, and overall experience could not have been better. The cabin is away from anyone else and in its own scenic, beautiful spot.

The amenities were to our satisfaction and everything we needed for a guy's weekend, which included the grill, hot tub, and TV for watching the NBA Finals. The cabin itself was conveniently located only 10 minutes away from Deadwood, which is where we spent a lot of our weekend.

Property was superbly maintained, and as the individual who handled all of the payment and communication with the property manager, the superb service cannot be understated. Payment was very easy, the manager was very easy to communicate with via email as well as text and phone call throughout the entirety of the trip, which included during and planning the trip.

I would not only recommend this cabin personally, but I would recommend any other cabin this group offers simply based off their service. This was the second time I've used this service and I was not disappointed either time. Highly recommend.

Great new cabin which supplied pretty much everything needed. The starter amount of supplies was plenty for the 4 nights we were there. The only thing needed for the kitchen was a cookie sheet, griddle, and 9x13 pan. Very secluded. We only had 1 vehicle come by that we noticed, yet a short drive to the main highway. Highly recommend for older children and adults.

The cabin/lodge was very nice and my family enjoyed our stay. All we had to pack was our food, clothes and personal items. It was easy to access but private. It is close to Deadwood and Lead.
We had a couple of request and they were able to accommodate us. My only disappointment was we couldn't stay there forever. My family wants to make this our go to get away.We will definitely book again.

Awesome view! Cabin was great and had everything we needed and more. It was very peaceful up there listening to the gentle breeze. We pulled a 12' trailer with side by side and with the steepness of road leading up and once to top it was challenging to navigate with trailer to park. Had to back in due to hauling trailer. It was a distance from main road but with having side by side it didn't matter much.

Wonderful cabin-like new. Very clean. Was a jaunt to get up the gravel road to the top where the cabin was located but worth if for the view and serenity. Hardly saw another person the entire 4 days we were at the cabin. Would not hesitate to stay here again if we come back to the Black Hills.

This was an awesome, secluded cabin that had a great view and was in driving distance of everything we wanted to get to in the Lead/Deadwood area. What a great cabin and a great way to stay in the Black Hills and enjoy awesome sunrises and sunsets! We WILL be staying there again!

We had a fantastic time!! It was great to get away with the family! We were able to do many activities in the area while social distancing and then come back to this beautiful cabin to spend quality time together. It was quiet, beautiful and very, very clean. Plenty of extra blankets, great start up supplies, wonderful hot tub...just can’t say enough great things! Budi was fantastic to work with! Her customer service is outstanding and her directions to the cabin were spot on! We will definitely be going back and no matter our next destination, because of our wonderful experience as first time cabin goers, we are done with hotels! Wonderful!!

My family of four LOVED this cabin. It was impeccably clean, completely private (we didn't hear any human or road noise the entire time, or see another soul), and peaceful. Simple walks along the gravel road (wild raspberries growing in patches!) were our favorite thing given COVID-19, but we also made several trips to nearby Custer State Park. Property manager was responsive, but we didn't have any issues with the house so didn't need to contact her during our stay. Other commenters have mentioned that the hot tub is not on the side of the house with the most spectacular view, but it DOES have a view - a beautiful - and was a very nice/clean hut tub. Parents with young children will need to monitor their kids outside the property, as the property edges are steep and slippery, and a child could easily slide down them. But it is worth it for that view and dinners out back.
