DEER MOUNTAIN VILLAGE
Location: Lead, SD
Deer Mountain Village offers a unique private skiing and snowboarding experience in the Northern Black Hills. Unlike a traditional public ski area, access to the mountain is reserved for members, their guests and eligible guests staying within the community.
Black Hills Adventure Lodging manages select vacation homes within Deer Mountain Village, giving guests staying at qualifying properties the opportunity to enjoy the community’s private ski and snowboard terrain during their stay.
Current winter amenities include approximately 120 acres of private skiable terrain, along with the East ski lift and tubing tow.
Because access is property-specific, be sure to confirm that Deer Mountain Village ski access is included with your Black Hills Adventure Lodging vacation rental when booking

ADAPTIVE SKIING
ABLE Sports of the Black Hills & Terry Peak Ski Area
Terry Peak offers adaptive ski lessons for individuals with disabilities and special needs, helping make the mountain accessible to skiers with a wide range of abilities. Lessons are tailored to each individual and provide a one-on-one experience with trained instructors.
Terry Peak partners with ABLE Sports of the Black Hills, a local nonprofit that provides specialized adaptive ski equipment including sit-skis, snow carts, standers and other equipment based on the skier’s needs.
Advance arrangements are recommended, particularly when specialized adaptive equipment is needed. Contact Terry Peak Ski School ahead of your visit to discuss individual needs and available equipment.
