Description

Welcome to Pillar Peak, your home-away-from-home when on your Black Hills vacation! Located just a short 3 miles East of Deadwood off Hwy 14, this cabin offers great proximity to snowmobile and ATV trails, as well as an abundance of hiking/biking options nearby. Within minutes you can be in Deadwood enjoying the history of the mining town and libations at the local bars/restaurants. Being on all paved roads, it's great for crews on motorcycles and is in the perfect location in the Northern Black Hills to start your adventure. Within 10 minutes you can be in Sturgis enjoying the Sturgis rally or just taking in the the sites. Head 15 minutes South of Deadwood and you can be in Spearfish Canyon cruising the winding road, trout fishing in the mountain streams, or rock climbing and hiking the local waterfalls! In the winter, you can be skiing/snowboarding at Mystic Miner or Terry Peak within 15 minutes after your stop for coffee in Deadwood. Want to see Mount Rushmore, Keystone, and Custer State park? Just head down Hwy 385 and you can be enjoying these wonderful sites in less than an hour!

After all your daily adventures, you will enjoy coming home to your 4,300 sq. ft. home with a floor-to-ceiling rock fireplace. Large enough for up to 17 guests, but plenty of room for each of you to spread out while enjoying some foosball, large flat-screen TVs with a Wii entertainment system and satellite TV, as well a kids play area. The gourmet kitchen with island has plenty of room for everyone in your group along with a nice walk out to the deck area where you can listen to the breeze and view wildlife right from your home! The master bedroom has a king bed with a jacuzzi tub and a TV on the main level as well!

You'll also enjoy the wet bar with your comrades, and a walk out to the lower patio. Stay connected with the internet at the home and there's also a child's high chair and play pen for traveling convenience. Don't forget about the large garage along with plenty of parking spaces for your trailers and toys you can't wait to enjoy while in the Black Hills! This is a great place for large groups/families. There was plenty of space to have a private area for each of our family units. The gather area was just the right size and the deck added extra space as well. Having enough bathrooms so families didn't have to share was a plus too. Very easy to find and close to Deadwood!

We had our family Christmas in this rental. We were all very comfortable and had more than enough room with several of us. Very accommodating and clean. We would all definitely consider renting this home again.

House was as described in the photo's. Clean and ready for us when we arrived and the few questions we had the caretaker took care of right away. Only issue is WIFI does not cover the entire house well and is not fast so if you plan on working from there make other arrangements. The extra refrigerator in the garage was nice to have for a large group. Plenty of seating on the deck for a large group.

Our family had stayed in the Pillar Peak area before, but this was the first time we had stayed at the Pillar Peak house. It was perfect for our family. Our family consisted of two families with small children plus 3 couples. Our children and grandchildren were able to have their own space in the lower level which was helpful for early bedtimes. The bedroom above the garage was perfect for our daughter, her husband and their young daughter. We all enjoyed the beautiful and spacious deck with plenty of seating. The air conditioning wasn't cooling the house to our desired temp and we couldn't get the nest thermostat to work. After a call to Paula at Black Hills Adventure Lodging, she helped us take care of the problem quickly. She was super helpful and courteous. The location was perfect for getting on trails for riding ATVs and there was plenty of parking for all of our pickups and trailers. I can definitely see us staying here again in future years.

The house is very well located for the northern Black Hills area, and is only 45 minutes from the tourist areas of Rapid City. A little farther to the Mt. Rushmore area at 90 minutes, but we could not find a cabin/house that could sleep 17 in the Keystone area.

Our extended family of 16 ranging from ages of 1 to 61 had a great time at this home. Everything we could possibly need was available and plenty of room to spread out when we were at the house. The view from the deck was breathtaking as we grilled many meals and enjoyed our early morning coffee. Having two sets of washers and dryers was the icing on the cake as we had lots of dirty clothes with so many people. I highly recommend this home to anyone looking to stay in the area!

Pillar Peak Place was amazing. I don't think we could find a better place for our anniversary celebration. My grandkids loved all the room. Loved sitting on the deck mornings and evenings. Would definitely recommend to anyone with a large group.

Perfect set-up for our group! We rode during the day, and chilled out every evening watching deer in the back yard! We will be back!

One of the wives broke her ankle in out way to rally... the cabin provided a perfect place for her and her husband to lounge while we rode.

This was a great solution for seven guys to crash after days of riding around the black hills. Having a garage to park the bikes in was a plus. Nice location convenient to Deadwood and Sturgis. We would consider this place again if and when we return.

This lodge as perfect for our family. The location was near both Deadwood and Sturgis, as well as the Black Hills. The drives to Rapid City and Keystone were easy. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots, and utensils. The bedrooms were perfect for our five families. We were very pleased.

The house was very nice and spacious and had all amenities you could need. A short $15-$20 dollar taxi ride to downtown Deadwood. If you plan on cooking, the kitchen was lacking in frying pans. Check out is 10am which is a bit early.

We had 16 people age 16-82. This was the perfect place. Four separate floors for sleeping arrangements kept everyone well rested. The cabin was very modern and clean. Kitchen and seating were great for a big group.

The cabin is first rate. There was a problem with garbage removal. Almost 1/2 of the garbage container from the previous was never dumped. We purchased more toilet paper. It would be helpful to have a small refrigerator in the lower level space. There is only one DVD player. It would be good to have a second one in the lower level as well. The washer dryer machines are wonderful. I would have enjoyed meeting Budi Kusser sometime during our stay. I can't believe there is no grocery store in Deadwood!

Our party of 11 cousins (all seniors) was very pleased with the accommodations at Pillar Peak. It was clean and cozy (except the first night when we couldn't figure out how to get the heat to work!). Thankfully blankets were plentiful and we figured it out in the morning! I would definitely recommend this property to a large group. We had a great visit and a lot of laughs! Thanks Budi.

This was a great lodge where our family could really kick back and enjoy some family time. Great spot for kids in the basement.

Had no complaints at all about the entire booking and communication process. Everything was super easy and keys, directions were all as described.
We had high hopes of the property and have to admit that location was stunning but we were all a little underwhelmed by the interior. Lounge furniture was old and tired with some staining visible on sofa and lamp shade, two lighting fixtures were actually broken and potentially dangerous - especially the one in thee attic bathroom. There was some grout missing from the master bath floor tiles and would have been great to see batteries in the Wii controllers in the 'game room' so that kids could have actually played with the system.
Overall we had a very nice time but guess the entire family just expected a little more from a property rental of this caliber.

Booking was easy, and the property manager was prompt and professional. The home itself is just amazing, and is situated perfectly to explore Deadwood, Lead, Spearfish, and Sturgis. The home can easily accommodate at least four couples (or families with kids) with a lot of room to spare, and is so large and well designed that guests can even avoid each other altogether for some quiet time. I would definitely stay here again - it's like having a dream home in the mountains.

This is an awesome cabin! Extended family from several states met for a reunion in honor of a family member that recently passed. There isn't one thing about this cabin that isn't top notch! Perfect location, beds for everyone, and cooking facilities...everyone loved it!
