We had a fabulous family fun trip staying at diamond in the rough! Beautiful cabin in a beautiful location! With 7 bedrooms we had enough room with our 20 family gathering! The game room downgrading was a life savor with all our kids to give the adults some quality time too! We willbe back forsure!

A picture of the pantry would be beneficial, we wouldn’t have needed to bring extra cooking items as the kitchen had more than enough items. Great accommodation for a large family, great gathering spaces. Beautiful home away from home, thank you for thinking of everything!

We do a sxs trip every fall in the hills with family and friends. We were so happy to have found this house to accommodate our large group of 25. We loved the large kitchen, dining room and living room space. The bedrooms were comfortable and nice layouts. The kids loved all the arcade and gaming in the basement and the adults loved gathering around the dining/ kitchen area. The pantry was a great asset with an extra fridge. Very good location and view.
The only cons were the flow of the kitchen design was really rough with a big group and lots of people cooking and cleaning. There should have been better flow and more trashes. I know this might not matter to everyone, but it definitely affected how we were able to use the kitchen.
The biggest con of this house was the fact that after a long day half of our group couldn’t get a warm/hot shower. We totally understood that we may have to stagger our showers with that many people but even after hours we couldn’t get the water to warm up. If your home accommodates that many people, the system should accommodate the same.
Overall, it was wonderful for our group. We would consider renting again!!

I have used Blacks Hills Adventures for 5 or 6 years now..Top notch service and cabins are always clean and ready. Diamond in the Rough was awesome for our group of 17 people lots of room for everyone plenty of bathrooms. Would highly recommend using them and staying in any of there cabins

Great house. Great location. Perfect for big groups. Bedrooms were full of comfy beds and plenty of extra blankets. Only complaint, not enough hot water for all guests. After skiing all day, everyone showers and too many cold showers towards the end.

This vacation rental is in a great location with lots of activities nearby. The home is well kept with many beds so it can accommodate large groups. The neighborhood is very nice and the Community Center was great with two pools and a splash pad for all ages. There were many trails accessible from the grounds for UTVs. The communication was a bit lacking and I would have liked to have had the kitchen better supplied with cooking and storage essentials but overall we were able to make due and pick up what we needed. It was great for our family reunion.

Came down for our daughters' wedding at The Barn. The house was perfect for the whole family! Just Beautiful!

This house was absolutely perfect! We had a group of 14 staying for 5 days. We had enough UTVs, gear, coolers, and food to match and we had plenty of space! When I say the homeowners have thought of everything, I mean it! An over the top stocked pantry and spice cabinet, dishes and silverware...absolutely amazing. The beds and bedding were superior. The views were stunning. You will want for nothing you may have forgotten when staying here. The ONLY 2 things, if I had to pick on something, was the lack of extra toilet tissue and not being able to adjust the thermostat upstairs. We have stayed in enough homes to realize we need to bring our own TP with and we could absolutely deal with the thermostat. Having 14 people with different temp preferences isn’t anything I would consider a con...just worth the mention. All in all, this house is absolutely worth every penny and we will be back!

We had a large group of lifelong friends from all over the country stay here for rally week. It was a great spot to gather in the evenings and plenty of space to spread out for privacy. Perfect location for riding to all of the prominent spots. We would stay here every time!

We stayed here for my brother and sister-in-law’s combined Bach party. Everything from the reservation process to the property and the staff was amazing! We definitely will try to come back again soon! The only comment that we have is the hot tub didn’t have any chlorine in it, so it got very gross fast and we thought we did something wrong, but found it didn’t have the tabs to keep it maintained. Only complaint!

We had a great time celebrating my parents 50th wedding anniversary. There were 15 of us and the house could have handled many more. It was the perfect week!

We’ve stayed at the Diamond in the Rough several times and will continue to rent it in the future. It’s perfect for large groups, plenty of space for people to spread out and relax. I saw others say the pictures don’t do it justice. I agree. Wow! What a beautiful setting. There was plenty of room for our family of 26 (6 families) to spread out.

The only drawback was the distance from Mount Rushmore etc but it was worth the drive. We loved our stay!

We also, rented the home next door which allowed the entire family to be together and enjoy great quality time. The fall views were amazing! Wish we could have stayed longer.

The work space in the kitchen was large enough for us to be able to prepare meals without getting in each other's way too much. The second fridge in the pantry was perfect for drinks. The downstairs was a hit with the kids. There was so much for them to do and room for them to spread out. The bedrooms and bathrooms were plentiful and slept us all comfortably. The mattresses were very comfortable. Getting ready in the mornings didn't take long because of all the showers available. We never had an issue with running out of hot water with our large group. The floor to ceiling windows offer stunning views of the hills. We had so many things we wanted to do and see in the hills, but it was always hard leaving the house. We would have been perfectly content relaxing with those views every day. The owners have obviously put a lot of care into making this house everything you look for in a vacation home. The only downside of our stay was that one of the bedrooms was warm at night and we tried opening the window to let in some cool air, but the window was broken and we were unable to close it again. Maintenance came the next day and got it closed for us, but we were unable to use the window for the rest of our stay. Also, this is the second home we have rented in Powder House Pass and neither house was very clean. Floors were sticky and the carpets didn't appear to have been vacuumed. I would like to see cleaning services improved. All in all, this house is amazing and we can't wait to come back.

Beautiful Lodge close to terry peak and snowmobiling trails. Diamond in the a rough was a perfect place for our family vacation that accommodated our large family under one roof! We will definitely be back next year!

Jackalope is a high end executive vacation home. We loved staying there and will be back! It's close to all the attractions and fun in the Black Hills. The rental company was easy to work with and made our vacation a great experience.

At the end of the days we would come back together and cook and play games in this wonderful house.
